Celebrating a Life Well Lived: My Mother, Rica Shaw

Today, I celebrate my mother, Rica Shaw—with sadness and tears, yes, but also with deep joy, hope, and gratitude.
She lived fully, loved deeply, and served faithfully.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of her unwavering faith in God and her belief that love is best shown through action.
My mom loved Jesus with her whole heart, and she lived that love out loud—every single day.
From early morning worship to generous giving, from opening her home to opening her hands, she believed there was always room for one more and always enough to share.
And somehow, there always was.
She taught excellence, discipline, and faith—sometimes firmly, always lovingly.
She stitched garments with care, but even more beautifully, she stitched lives together with compassion, generosity, and grace.
Her joy came from serving others, bringing souls to Christ, and living a life that pleased God.
And that joy still lives on—in her children, her family, and everyone she touched.
Her work here is complete. Her legacy lives on. And she now rests in peaceful sleep, awaiting the glorious return of Christ.
For her life, her love, and her example—we give thanks.
